We were told by the Perinatologist that sometimes it will spontaneously fix itself once the baby is born, however, he didn't seem very confident that that would be the case for Alex. We go in for another level 2 ultrasound at the end of the month to see if the fluid in his renal pelvis has gotten better, stayed the same, or has gotten worse. Pending on the measurements we'll be going to see a pediatric urologist for a game plan that will most likely include antibiotics (to prevent UTIs and Kidney infections) and a timeline of tests and possible surgery. Regardless, Alex will continue to grow and develop like any other baby. We're crossing our fingers and hoping for the best...but for now we're in waiting game to see which direction we're headed in.emilyacarverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07638245684481835278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3397512315532659898.post-12744606507933523512012-06-10T09:35:23.867-07:002012-06-10T09:35:23.867-07:00Oh I love the name Alexander-it was my GreatGreat ...Oh I love the name Alexander-it was my GreatGreat Grandfather's name & also my youngest Uncles.
My Ggreat-grandfather must have been an incredibly loving man.He took on when he married my GGReat-Grandmother her son & her sister's orphaned daughter. They then had another four children. She died of typhus fever this was around 1861.His youngest two were five & two.No dumping of the children on family he took care of them including taking the youngest two to work with him.He must have instilled in them family unity & love. When my Great-Grandfather was around 9 his Father dies very suddenly. The family are split BUT they stay in touch & sadly my Great-Grandfather is the only one along with his half-brother to make it past their twenties(oh & his cousin/sister) too.He names my Grandfather after his half-brother so there must have been great love there.Alexander Waddell is one of my favourite ancestors & I have always loved the name.
In Scotland if shortened the name becomes Alec for a boy & Alex for a girl so there is no mix-up.
What is the kidney issue? My brother has kidney disease & has had two renal transplants so I know more about renal function than the average bod.
Good luck with your pregnancy & glad to have found your blog.Jintyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09399340512731794936noreply@blogger.com
